For those who seek ongoing, one-on-one guidance on their spiritual path, Malcolm offers a long-distance mentoring program called the Journey of Awakening.
The following description is designed to outline the program and to give you sufficient information about it to help you decide whether you feel it is a good work for you to commit to at this point in your life, and make no mistake, this is a program that will require a commitment from both of us, a commitment of both time and intent. If, after reading this letter, you decide you would like to pursue the mentoring program you should email me and we will arrange a phone interview to answer any final questions you have about it and to give me a chance to evaluate whether this program would be useful in your life now.
First of all, what is the Journey of Awakening? It is a sacred journey; no, it is the sacred journey, the journey that is described in all spiritual writings. However, the journey as we will embark on it will not focus on the external forms and rituals of spiritual life but on the heart of the journey: Awakening!: the awakening of the spirit to its full awareness and sensitivity. As you are living it now, this journey is intensely personal and unique because it is guided by your heart and your desire. It is the journey home to all that is true and pure within you, to the spiritual light at your core, and to the Life that is within and surrounds you.
However, life can be overwhelming and filled with distractions, so we often lose sight of our path and our goal and find ourselves on a journey of forgetfulness instead of pursuing our hearts desire. This one-on-one program will help you reawaken to the guidance of your heart, to reconnect with the purpose of your immortal soul, and to awaken to the vast life and dignity that lives within you. It is individually guided; it will start precisely where you are on that journey right now; and it will always follow the “next step” that is unfolding in you life. This is the benefit of one-on-one guidance rather than following the teachings designed for a group where you have to translate the teachings into your life or where you follow some generalized plan.
This program requires a commitment to yourself, to your spiritual path, as well as a considerable commitment of time. The minimum length of mentorship is 6-months though there is a possibility to extend that for a second 6-month commitment. These programs consist of twice-monthly phone conversations of approximately 50 minutes and, if needed, a couple of email contacts a month to help clarify points of the calls or of the homework. Every phone session will conclude with homework to deepen and extend the teachings we are exploring. This is a crucial part of the program and the time commitment to do it is essential. Homework will include various meditations, spiritual practices, wilderness sits, journaling, and other heart-centered practices that will help you move along your spiritual path. They will take time though there will be an effort made to use practices that will integrate seamlessly into your life.
From my side, I am committing to not only the phone calls, but to all the behind the scenes work to stay current with your progress, to tailor exercises that will remove any obstacles that arise for you on the journey, and to help you build the energy and momentum that will allow you to achieve spiritual breakthroughs. I am committed to the complete success of your journey and will brook no obstacles.
This program is not the work or teachings of Earth-Heart’s Personal Intensive. While that program might be useful to someone who has taken it by providing a foundation for their spiritual work, it is not necessary for this program. We will address the personal issues that come up in the course of our spiritual work and integrate them into our journey and we will use their energy to help us see more clearly into our journey. However, the Journey of Awakening is not psychological work. It is spiritual work that will address personal issues if they arise and create a block in our pathway. Otherwise, our personal history will simply be a part of the rich tapestry of the background and foreground of our life.
There are two ways to pay for this program. For a six-month commitment that is paid in full at the start of the six-months, the cost is $230.00 per month, for a total of $1380.00. You can pay either with a credit card or a check. For the six-month commitment that is paid monthly, the cost is $250.00 paid in automated monthly installments on your credit card, for a total of $1500.00. Also, because all the Earth-Heart programs help someone move along this journey, we are offering a discount of 15% on all class fees (not room and board) of group programs (not the Personal Intensive) while actively enrolled in the mentoring program.
